How the Bible Encourages All Christians to Share the Gospel

As Christians, experiencing Jesus’ love moves us to share it with everyone, which is sharing the gospel.

It’s truly wonderful when someone embraces Christ, as it brings joy to heaven.

Moreover, sharing the gospel is a powerful way to show that hope and love exist, even in a world filled with pain and evil.

What Does it Mean to Share the Gospel?

Sharing the gospel means communicating the incredible news that a loving God offers people the chance to experience eternal love through a relationship with their Creator.

Additionally, it’s all about spreading the good news of Jesus Christ, which is known as the “Great Commission” because it’s one of the last things Jesus told His followers to do.

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’

Matthew 28:19-20

Today, we also refer to it as “evangelism.”

Furthermore, when we share the gospel, we’re telling others about how Christ made it possible for anyone who believes in Him to have eternal salvation.

At its heart, the gospel is the story of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, giving hope and redemption to humanity.

So, it’s crucial to have a strong, biblical understanding of the gospel message to effectively share it with others.

The Foundational Principles of the Gospel:

The core truths of the gospel are built on these foundational principles:

1. God, as the sovereign creator, loves every human being deeply.

2. Sin creates a gap between us and God, leading to death and judgment.

3. Jesus, lived a pure life on earth and sacrificed Himself on the cross to pay for humanity’s sins.

4. Believing in Jesus allows individuals to reconcile with God and receive complete forgiveness for their sins.

5. By conquering death and sin, Jesus rose from the dead, showing His power over both and promising to return one day to judge all.

6. Those who put their faith in Jesus and accept salvation can be absolutely sure that they are saved.

7. The Holy Spirit guides us in effectively sharing the truth of the gospel.

Key Bible Verses on Sharing the Gospel

The Bible clearly tells all Christians to share the gospel, as highlighted in various key verses on evangelism:

Romans 10:15: Celebrates the beauty found in the feet of those who share the gospel, emphasizing the significance of their actions.

And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

Romans 10:15

1 Peter 2:21: Encourages following in the footsteps of Jesus, who left us an example to follow.

This suffering is all part of what God has called you to. Christ, who suffered for you, is your example. Follow in his steps.

1 Peter 2:21

2 Timothy 4:5 : Urges believers to do the work of an evangelist, fulfilling their ministry.

But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at bringing others to Christ. Complete the ministry God has given you.

2 Timothy 4:5

Acts 1:8 – Promises power from the Holy Spirit to be witnesses of Jesus.

But when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will receive power and will tell people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. “

The Acts 1:8

Romans 10:14 – Asks how can people believe if they haven’t heard, emphasizing the importance of preaching.

But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?

Romans 10:14

1 Corinthians 9:22-23 – Encourages becoming all things to all people to save some, for the sake of the gospel.

When I am with those who are oppressed, I share their oppression so that I might bring them to Christ. Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone so that I might bring them to Christ. I do all this to spread the Good News, and in doing so I enjoy its blessings.

1 Corinthians 9:22-23

2 Timothy 4:2 – Instructs preaching the word, being ready in season and out of season.

Preach the word of God. Be persistent, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching.

2 Timothy 4:2

Acts 4:12 – Declares salvation is found in no one else but Jesus.

There is salvation in no one else! There is no other name in all of heaven for people to call on to save them.”

The Acts 4:12

1 Corinthians 1:18 – States that the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing but the power of God to those who are being saved.

I know very well how foolish the message of the cross sounds to those who are on the road to destruction. But we who are being saved recognize this message as the very power of God.

1 Corinthians 1:18
